Renovation of Historic Church into a One-Of-A-Kind Event Center, Banquet

Hall, Youth - Gym Center, and two Luxury Apartments

Central Hall, formerly known as the ADAMS Church, is a 5,500 sq. ft. multi-level indoor space and synergic partnership between Access to the Arts, and Kids at Promise offering non-profit public programming.

Renovation of Central Hall will transform this historic building into a financially sustainable Multi-Use Event + Rental Space for weddings, receptions, performances, education, life skills, and a youth oriented athletic center.  Central Hall will also provide year-round programming with several synergic partnerships to serve residents and recreational visitors alike. The upper-level Banquet Room and two (2) Luxury Apartments will blend historic and contemporary design establishing Central Hall as a One-Of-A-Kind Event Center. The lower-level Youth – Gym Center will feature boxing, youth fitness, and educational classrooms shall provide life skills.

The project will offer a year-round venue for commercial, educational, and entertainment, events, and youth programming. There is no comparable historic interior space building to serve the community remaining in the city.

Commercial Programming: Weddings, Corporate Events, Galas, Farmers Markets,

Holiday Fairs, and private rentals for birthday parties, family and school reunions.

Educational Programming: Partnership with Dunkirk Library for book readings, and talks, Cornell Cooperative Extension wants to hold cooking courses and offer catering services, Boys and Girls Club wants to utilize the large 2-½ story open space for activities and games, City of Dunkirk Public Schools for STEM educational programming, Art Classes, Technology Workshops.

Entertainment Programming: Concerts, Ball-Room Dancing, Gymnastics, Acrobatics,

Theater, Plays, Yoga Classes.

As the only community and event center of Downtown Dunkirk, Central Hall will attract new investment through commercial, educational, and entertainment opportunities. This growth will result in increased vitality, visitors, and economic growth that will pull tourism and business development from the waterfront into the Central Business District (and back). A renovated Central Hall will enhance local business opportunities namely hotels, restaurants, rentals, caterers, and equipment services. Public support for weddings, Conventions, Reunions and Corporate gatherings will bolster economic diversity. Youth programming will strengthen life skills and opportunities for young people in Dunkirk.
